Friday Propaganda: Optimistic Edition
Posted on 11. Dec, 2009 by OHC in Friday Propaganda
We were down listening to the Pre-Budget Report: recession deepening, debt mounting, taxes accumulating, politics of envy returning. But you know what cheered us up? The realisation that the government won’t get a chance to implement everything they want.
They’ve got to hold an election in the next six months, probably before the next Budget. So take heart from this incredibly simple poster the Conservatives put out in 1978, and look on the bright side of life.
Friday Propaganda: Class War Edition

Bare of any substance, the government’s been preparing to unleash the whole class machine that is the Labour grassroots. That despite though Old Etonians may actually be the best people for government, as the Daily Mash exclusively reveals.
But despite that new research, perhaps a healthier message is the one used by the Conservative Party in 1992, to help promote their non-Etonian leader:
Kinda makes you wish you were rejected as a bus conductor, if it means you’d get to be PM. The only problem is you’d have to be John Major…

When our government claims to have saved the world, but has actually doomed the nation, we need some economic cheering up. You know, something like “We’re seeing some green shoots of recovery”. Maybe “We’re best-placed to recover from this global crisis”.
Kinda similar to the recession of the early 1980s. Like Brown, Thatcher called it a global economic crisis. Like Brown, Thatcher said we were best placed to recover from it. But unlike Brown, Thatcher actually had facts on her side. Here’s a poster from the 1983 election campaign.
And the electorate gave Thatcher a landslide victory in return. What are the odds on Brown achieving that?

In a week of more abject failures and insults to our service personnel by the government, the press (Ed: don’t tell me… you?) is focusing ever more on the ill-equipment of our service personnel fighting overseas, and the breach of the Military Covenant, by Labour.
It’s not a failure due to budget deficits. It’s not a failure due to special unforeseen circumstances. It’s a failure due to Labour. See this damning condemndation of Labour commitment to defence from the 1987 election, during the Cold War. Some things never change!
Vote Labour – Get Failure. Vote Conservative – Get Honour.
I couldn’t have said it better…

This week, one editor posted our regular Friday Propaganda spot- using the words:
Imagine what Britain would be like in five years if Labour get in again. We’d be up crap creek without a paddle, having our heads beaten in by Nikolai Valuev (Ed: yeah, but would we have our keys?).
It’s funny how Google Ads picks up such subtle nuances in said Editor’s demeanor- suggesting, well… have look for yourself.

Yes that’s right. Anger Management. Isn’t it about time?

Imagine what Britain would be like in five years if Labour get in again. We’d be up crap creek without a paddle, having our heads beaten in by Nikolai Valuev (Ed: yeah, but would we have our keys?). Our economy, our Union, our freedom: all gone the way of the dodo.
Sounds familiar, right. Conservatives’ embrace of the civil liberties started with David Davis’s moment of madness, right? Wrong. After five years of Labour misgovernment, check out this election poster the Conservatives ran with in 1979.
Thank goodness Britain didn’t get them.
Friday Propaganda: “Back to work, you commies!” Edition
Posted on 30. Oct, 2009 by OHC in Friday Propaganda
We’ve been striving to find the best propaganda to keep you right, online and off, and so are proud to announce that Friday Propaganda is back as a regular weekly series, starting by counting down ten of the top posters from Conservative Party history.
Like many of the instalments, this week’s has a certain topicality: strikes. Issued in 1983, this poster was targeted at nurses that were going on strike over their pay increasing by only 6.4%, and were condemning patients to die as a result.
Touché! Now get back to work!
So, how about it, CWU? How on Earth will a £500m strike help pay for the post offices?
Friday Propaganda – 29 May 2009

KeepRightOnline’s second week of Friday Propaganda brings to you the 2007 Saatchi and Saatchi Labour advert promoting not the Labour Party, or policies, or acheivements, or aspirations… but just a man in a cheap suit on a bad hair day.
Perhaps readers can clarify something for us. Was this supposed to be pro or anti Brown?

Here’s a new feature we’re trying out boys and girls. Every Friday we’ll attempt to bring you an interesting piece of campaigning material from across the board. That’s right- we’re acheiving cross party support… maybe. It’s Friday Propaganda!
Today we’ve chosen to display a wonderful Conservative Future concoction, depicting the Labour government as a enslaving leviathan, hell bent on keeping Britiain under the thumb. The image does well to illustrate that this government has been perpetuating the same insult to liberty and personal responsibility for 12 years.
Enjoy.
