James Who?!

When National Executive members of Conservative Future have to ask that question, you know said ‘James Cutts’ doesn’t speak for the Conservative Party or CF in anyway. Why, therefore has Mr. Cutts been commenting on the Grauniad’s latest hatchet job attempt at Pickles and the Young Britons’ Foundation? (more…)

Sketchy details at the moment but this one is developing as we speak. Last night, an ‘unsanctioned’ Christmas Party under the banner of ‘London CF’ descended into a show down between one of the hosts and National Chairman Michael Rock. Reports so far suggest that Rock was the victim of provocation and that the Chairman attempted to diffuse the situation.
One attendee mentioned, “I buggered off pretty early, it was crap.”
Embarrassingly enough, the unofficial party was said to be open to 500+ people, and just 12-15 showed up on the night. The official Conservative Future Christmas Party attracted over 250 guests from across the country, organised in part with KeepRightOnline.
More to come…
The blurry and few pictures from the CF Christmas Party 2009

Yes, they’re few in number but these are the only pictures from the Conservative Future National Christmas Party, after the clear embargo on photography! Make what you will of the confused and blurry expressions on the members’ faces… sorry guys.
Love the expression on a certain Posh Tory’s face… and what was that phonecall about Mr. Rock?

I was just thinking more and more about ID cards this morning, and I couldn’t help but mock up this little graphic and use the above headline to tell the government how I and every freedom loving individual feels about the ID card scheme.
No, it won’t stop terrorism.
No, it won’t save lives.
No, your details won’t be safe.
Big Brother Watch is getting a lot of coverage this morning with it’s claim that over half the population would need to voluntarily subscribe to the ID card scheme for it to break even on its taxpayer budget.
Conservative Future have a fantastic video regarding their work with NO2ID, the national campaign against ID cards.
Don’t be surprised if you see this editor on the news for climbing atop Parliament and demonstrating against this abhorrent scheme. After all, if it’s okay for environ-fascists to do it without consequence…
Young Tories back NO2ID.

This excellent video has come out of the new Conservative Future TV unit today, and is an awesome insight into the activism displayed within the ranks of the largest youth political movement in the country.

Now who could that be?
Mirror Fail.
Posted on 10. Oct, 2009 by RK in United Kingdom
In today’s Daily Mirror, you can find their 2 page attempt to smear Conservative Future. The only thing is, it’s not really much of a smear. Hacks have clearly gone out of their way to find embarrassing pictures of young Tories being silly, and congratulations to them for that. The story they seem to have dug up here is:
“Young tories act like young people!”
It’s a bit of a failure if you ask this editor. The gratuitous picture of Swann in a bra and Jacko with a wig only goes to show, Conservative Future aren’t all bores and certainly aren’t always business.
As the largest youth political organisation in the UK, Conservative Future prides itself on involving supporters in party campaign activity. But as our photos show, the Tories of the future are far from the dedicated elite they aspire to be. The party of the people? Posh people…
We agree, however, that as these people further their careers in politics, they may have to tone it down a notch, but as for the major implication that these are posh people who are far from dedicated? Well… all the Mirror has shown us are scenes from any British high street/house party after one too many. Quite in touch with Brown’s Binge-drinking Britian, I’d say.
Better luck next time, boys.
Conservative Party Conference, Day 0 roundup
Posted on 05. Oct, 2009 by RK in United Kingdom
Apologies dear readers, I know you were expecting loads of juicy gossip from here at #cpc09. Unfortunately, it’s been so damn busy that we haven’t had a chance to blog! (Ed: Lies. You’re just too cheap to fork out for wifi.) Here’s a quick round up of where KeepRightOnline has been.
Day 0
Arrived in Manchester around midday with the famous ToryTittleTatler and @ChristianJMay. Not a bad train ride at all. Settled in and headed to the YBF/CF Training event whereby KRO was impressed by the number of new recruits who had come to conference and come to the training. (Ed: Very on message, yawn) The night was swiftly engaged as CF troops were spotted packing out the Font Bar (with a visit from Evan Davies) and the Midland Hotel. It’s safe to say things got very messy after the 5th mudslide. ToryBear was unable to hold himself upright (Ed: What’s new?) and the night was spent chatting with eager activists.
KRO shout outs from Sunday night: Ken Chan, Henry Jamieson (Jamie Henrison), Owen Meredith, Richard ‘Neville’ Jackson, Michael ‘Mr. Chairman’ Rock, Donal Blaney, Neil Cropper, Patrick Sullivan, Michelle Donelan, Danni Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Peter Smallwood, Scott Seaman-Digby, Steven Dent and many more
FYI: Blackberry is being a pain so no pictures quite yet. Probably not such a bad idea.
Campus for Change

In what KeepRightOnline hopes will become a regular feature (nudge, nudge Pat!) Patrick Sullivan of the Conservative Future NME writes for us today regarding the upcoming University season in his role as Chairman for Student Life. Over to you Mr. Sullivan.
University season is just around the corner and the majority of young people are already disillusioned and disappointed with Gordon Brown and his crumbling Labour Party. Gordon Brown’s catastrophic debts and ultra high taxes have left young people and their supportive families out of pocket and out of options when it comes to get a decent education.
In this challenging climate, it’s more important than ever that Conservative Future activists work hard to prove to incoming undergraduates that CF is a professional organisation to help bring about change. The Freshers’ events at Universities across the country have long been known as a breeding ground for top class Conservative activists who go on to do great things in the party and the wider country. But this year needs to be something special, our branches need to be actively working hard together to ensure that Conservative Future makes huge increases in its student membership to ensure we have a campaign force fit for the future.
I keep in regular contact with the majority of branch Chairman across the country and I know how hard they work to ensure Conservative Future has a huge presence across University campuses. Many of them started out as a tiny organisation with only a handful of members, which has now transformed into a professional organisation with hundreds of committed activists. These people are without doubt the backbone of the Conservative Party, and their active members provide a first class campaign force for prospective candidates in target seats.
With the launch of our 2009 Student Life campaign just around the corner, I will be visiting many branch chairman and activists at a selection of Universities around the UK. Our dedicated team will be organising local events, helping drive recruitment and managing political debates to help new Undergraduates get a feel for what life as a Conservative Future activist is actually like.
With the election clock counting down the days till Gordon Brown is forced to go to the country, we need to work together to organise and recruit a campaign force ready to get out on the doorsteps and spread the word. Conservative Future needs to be the organisation offering real change on campus for students seeking to make a difference.
The Student Life campaign will help support this goal, but we need to work together to prove that we can offer young people an exciting experience that they can be apart of for the long term. There is very little time left so lets get going and make this the most successful Freshers’ year ever.
