It’s time to put the Beeb to bed

Have a read of this piece, currently trending on the BBC ‘Most Popular Stories’ section.
Now tell me they’re not guilty of playing politics, being socialist sympathisers and a mouthpiece for the expansion of the state? No, you can’t say it, can you?
Incredible, how the state funded BBC, which is supposed to be politically and ideologically neutral posts drivel such as stating as a fact that socialised healthcare would be better for America. Or how about the line where they say Bush talked nonsense and Al Gore was God? The whole piece is a bloody joke.
Lastly, they cite Thomas Frank, author of “The Wrecking Ball: How Conservatives Rule” as a source of information to trust as to whether or not the healthcare bill is a good idea.
They seem to be unable to understand that attempts to force ridiculous things upon the American people is precisely why America became America in the first place. Now the left is calling people unable to afford full healthcare, “turkeys voting for Christmas” because they don’t believe government should intervene every which way. That’s some profound respect for democracy there guys. No, really. Marx called; says he wants his lunacy back.

Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me – Part 2
Posted on 17. Dec, 2009 by RK in United Kingdom
So the BBC has decided that compromising on its state-funded, impartial, non-advertising role is more acceptable than playing a few swears live on air when Rage Against the Machine today performed Killing in the Name on Radio 5 Live.
Listen to the Sun’s poor stream here (Ed: their excellent health coverage more than makes up for it). From about 5 minutes in, you can hear the awesome live version of the song, at the end of which the anti-authoritarian/anti-state/anti-everything RATM decided to chuck in the song lyric, “Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me!” (Ed: Who would’ve thunk it?!)
At this point, they were cut off and co-host SHELAGH FOGARTY uttered:
“Sorry, we needed to get rid of that because that suddenly turned into something we weren’t expecting. Well, we were expecting it and we asked them not to do it and they did it anyway. So buy Joe’s record!”
Uh, excuse me? I know this editor will be making a complaint, I hope you do too. As for the X-Factor vs. RATM contest, buy your copy of Killing in the Name now here.
All things BNP…
Posted on 20. Oct, 2009 by RK in United Kingdom
So the membership list for the BNP was leaked today, and it wouldn’t be the first time either. I note that Lord Bramall (Bramhall on the document) is listed as an OAP member, with his address and mobile phone number in full view. I wonder what truth there is in that. There is a Mr. David Cameron Otter on the list, which tickled me, too.
I must say that while it’s great from a transparency perspective to have this information, as these bigots can be named and shamed, often these people are duped into joining a party who claims to have democratic policies but recently had to be forced into submission by the EHRC (not the dearest friends of KeepRightOnline, I must add).
The organisation stirs up a lot of emotion, mais just and this could lead to attacks on members who are simply exercising their democratic right to have their opinions (no matter how regressive and extreme-left) represented.
And represented they are! To all the BNP-deniers who wouldn’t have the scoundrels appear on our beloved Beeb (Ed: Gag), Mr. James Delingpole has a few choice words for you. Words which this editor endorses. Words like ‘freedom‘, ‘democracy‘, ‘representation‘ and so forth.
How far this leak scenario goes, time will tell. It’s undoubtable that Nick Griffin will ‘lose’ debates against colleagues on Thursday, simply for the fact that his views do not correlate with much of public opinion. Nonetheless, we musn’t forget, the BNP have councillors across the country, a London Assembly member, and 2 MEPs, one of whom is their Chairman.

KeepRightOnline feel quite strongly about this cause, led by ConHome in the midst of the news that some councils could delay ‘the count’ after polling day at a General Election until the day after (i.e. Friday)!
Crazy business, we love our elections nights, our 3am coffees and the heart-in-mouth moments as the BBC Sky News reports the latest Conservative gain results.

BBC to fork out over £2m in Salford-move cock-up
Posted on 22. Jul, 2009 by keeprightonline in United Kingdom
Telegraph has this story today on how the trumpeted BBC move from Salford (in its chic bid for non-London-centricity) will cost the licence payer over £2m in redundancies alone. It’s time to scrap the fee, and hold the BBC accountable for their tremendous waste of money.
Among the parts of the corporation being transferred are children’s, learning, sport, Radio 5 Live and parts of future, media and technology departments. This will amount to 1,600 roles being relocated from London.
The BBC has offered staff up to £46,000 to persuade them to move from London to Salford, Greater Manchester, however, still around half of people, just over 700, do not wish to move from the capital.
The Beeb is therefore set to pay out at least a month’s salary to every employee it is forced to make redundant through the lack of will to move. You can’t blame them, though. Not everyone wants to uproot for the sake of Auntie. Especially since their relocation ‘experts’ Cartus, did such a smashing job on the whole thing.
Time to put this old chesnut to rest.
Oh Gord…

From PoliticsHome (KeepRightOnline spin in deletions/bold):
Apprentice star tautologist Sir Alan Sugar is to be given a peerage today.
The washed up businessman is to become the government’s ‘enterprise tsar’ (Ed: Vomit), but is not being made a minister.
The Prime Minister’s spokesman latest whipping boy confirmed Sir Alan would be a working Labour Peer, and was expected to take the govenrment[sic] whip in the Lords. (Ed: I bet!)

BoJo stalkers throw toys out of pram/can't read

So a couple of IT kids set up BorisWatch on Friday 2nd May “Registered on: 03-May-2008″ in an attempt to, let’s use a block quote here because this is rich;
Enhance the accountability of the new London mayoralty
Fine. Good. Some self-styled ombudsman with a religio-capitalist (Ed: Uh, what) agenda have decided it’s up to them to shed some light on the Boris Johnson regime. Editor Nadir Jeewa admits to having been a part of Hizb-ut-Tahrir, “an international pan-Islamist, Sunni, vanguard political party whose goal is to combine all Muslim countries in a unitary Islamic state or caliphate, ruled by Islamic law and with a caliph head of state elected by Muslims”. Delightful! While Tom Barry, the “scruffy IT guy working for a major ISP (Virgin, I’m guessing),” was called in 2008 by Andrew Gilligan,
one tireless Johnson-basher
Oo-er.
Regardless, you’ve gotta wonder what these nerds people who claim to, “read through TfL Board minutes so you don’t have to,” (nerd) are doing picking on a modest blog like KeepRightOnline?
Following our story (for which we credited, albeit with a friendly ribbing) BorisWatch on the BBC’s inability to get the name of a Transport Advisor to BoJo correct; BorisWatch proceeded to issue these kind words on their blog regarding our coverage.
Oh, and note to tiresome trolls – this isn’t the BBC being biased or unethical merely being crap at reporting on the website and indulging in churnalism, which is hardly unusual or unique to the BBC.
Wait a minute. Isn’t that what we put it down to? Or did you just read the headline and nothing else? Goodness me.
Oh and by the way, brilliant IT guys that you are, you have some broken links on your “About” page. You’re welcome.
UPDATED: BBC fabricates sources… what's new?
Posted on 13. Jul, 2009 by keeprightonline in United Kingdom
Oops, did I just say that? Okay okay I take it back. But what’s up with this? Either we’re incredibly ignorant, or the BBC are incredibly stupid. I prefer to assume the latter but am welcome to the former, should someone prove me wrong. A quick look on Google and London.gov.uk has left me baffled still. Props to BorisWatch (though not sure on how sound the site is in general!) for catching this one.
Who is Kabir Das?
UPDATED (see picture): The BBC were apparently trying to name Transport Advisor to BoJo, “Kulveer Ranger.” Slight typo then, eh boys?
